Within the scope of the “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Target: Road Map for Transport” Project, the Road and Urban Transport Thematic Workshop was held on 29 June 2026. The workshop reviewed the current state of road and urban transport together with draft strategies, targets, actions and monitoring indicators. It also covered the financing framework and investment needs, advanced biofuels and e-fuels, a biomethane case study for road transport, and the modelling approach, scenario structure and model outputs.

In the afternoon, separate road and urban transport roundtables were held in parallel. Stakeholders assessed the draft strategies in terms of feasibility, priority and responsible organisations, and discussed constraints and opportunities affecting the proposed targets. Group findings were shared in the closing session, and feedback, comments and recommendations were compiled to inform the strategy work.
