About Us

The “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Target: Transport Roadmap” Project, implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with funding from the European Union (EU), aims to contribute to Türkiye’s transition to an environmentally friendly and sustainable transport system by developing concrete policies to achieve the net zero emission target in the transportation sector.

Zero Emissions in Transportation

Net Zero Emissions refers to balancing the amount of greenhouse gases (carbon emissions) released into the atmosphere with carbon offsetting and emission reduction methods, effectively reducing the net emissions to zero. Therefore, it does not mean the complete elimination of emissions but achieving a balance of the carbon dioxide emitted. For this reason, it is referred to as “net zero” rather than simply “zero.”
