Within the scope of the \u201cT\u00fcrkiye\u2019s Net Zero Emission Target: Road Map for Transport\u201d Project, the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting was held on 17 February 2026 in Ankara. During the meeting, participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the current stage of the project, including progress in policy review studies, stakeholder engagement activities, and the development of the transport emissions model. Updates were also shared regarding the preparation of the Strategy Document and Action Plan.<\/p>\n

Discussions during the meeting focused on policy scenarios for reducing emissions in the transport sector, including modal shift strategies, increasing the share of rail transport, and the use of alternative fuels. In addition, the role of carbon pricing mechanisms, energy supply and infrastructure capacity, and financing instruments in supporting the decarbonisation of the transport sector was discussed. The meeting concluded with reflections on aligning project outputs with strategic priorities and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.<\/p>\n
