Within the scope of the \u201cT\u00fcrkiye\u2019s Net Zero Emission Target: Road Map for Transport\u201d Project, a five-day training programme on Transport Planning and Transport Modelling was held on 7, 8, 12, 13, and 14 August 2025. The training covered key theoretical aspects, including transport modelling methodology, the four-step modelling approach, demand forecasting processes, scenario analysis, calibration techniques, and evaluation of model outputs.<\/p>\n
In the practical sessions, the VISUM transport modelling software was used for hands-on exercises including network coding, traffic analysis zone definition, matrix development, private vehicle and public transport assignment procedures, volume-delay functions, skim matrix calculations, and GIS data integration.<\/p>\n
The training was delivered by Y\u00fccel Erdem Di\u015fli (Senior Transport Planning Expert and Transportation Engineer, specialized in SUMP development and transport modelling), Melike Sar\u0131m Boynuyo\u011fun (Transport Planning and Modelling Expert), Taceddin K\u0131nay (Transport Modelling Expert), and Murat Mat (Transport Planning and Modelling Expert).
